Creative, go-ahead caterers Jackson Gilmour are hoping to crown a hugely successful year with an important industry award. The company has been named as a finalist for the Event Magazine Caterer of the Year Award 2009 - putting it in position to top its performance in 2008, when Jackson Gilmour was rated as "highly commended".
Head Chef Joyce O'Hagan, who has previously assisted the judges on BBC Masterchef, says: "We're delighted to have made it through to this new stage of the competition. For the first time the judges are going to taste the food of the shortlisted caterers and we are ready for the challenge. This year we've worked with Michelin starred chefs Shane Osborn and Brett Graham, which has added a new and exciting dimension to our repertoire. Our mission is to keep pushing back the boundaries of event catering, and ensure everyone eating at one of our events enjoys fabulous food. An award won't change this goal - but it may help us get our message more effectively to more people."
The past three months has been a dynamic period for Jackson Gilmour, including relaunching its new website at www.jacksongilmour.com, and beginning an exciting programme of rebranding - the full results of which will be seen in the Autumn.
