News and ideas from Event Caterers Jackson Gilmour

The JG Crunch

Jackson Gilmour are experiencing a more enjoyable type of ‘crunch’ this Autumn with the creation of our hard to resist ‘Apple and Butterscotch Crunch with a hint of eau-de-vie‘ perfect with our Baked Blackberry and Stem Ginger Pudding or our classic warm Bread and Butter Pudding As the weather turns cooler and the days become shorter, there is something undeniably comforting about these warm, sweet puddings and the slightly spicy aroma that emerges when you plunge your spoon in. As you eat the crunch, the coolness is refreshing, yet the flavour of the apple eau-de-vie warms you up at the same time. A fabulous combination.

Transform one of London’s historic landmarks into a perilous pre-historic jungle.

The Natural History Museum – Guests were amazed at the Hall’s stunning appearance which had been transformed from previous events held there. To create a uniquely stylish and fun jungle setting, we used a combination of tall palm trees, rainbow effect lighting, zebra and leopard print linen plus ‘tortoise shell’ glassware. Several hungry dinosaurs were also spotted peering at guests from the jungle, but as non-invitees they were not allowed to eat.

As one of the industry leaders in offering lower-carbon menus with a strong environmental element, we were delighted to be chosen by Ecoevents to offer their guests our new range of reduced carbon canapés. Guests enjoyed delicacies such as our popular JG Homemade Thyme Oatcake with melting Somerset Brie and sloe gin relish. Following this event two clients have gone on to use Jackson Gilmour to cater for their event using our new range of reduced-carbon menus - with Rio Tinto asking us to cater at the luncheon for the prestigious David Watt Prize and Network Rail using us for its Environmental Dinner.
